On January 12, Dong Xia, Director of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, led a delegation to visit the School of Global and Area Studies at Renmin University of China. The visit aimed to exchange insights on the cultivation of regional and country studies talents and youth diplomacy initiatives. Participants from the Institute included Professor Zhai Dongsheng, Dean of the School of Global and Area Studies ; Associate Professor Xu Zhengyuan, the Joint Institute for European Studies (MOE); Associate Professor Ji Xianbai, Director of the South and Southeast Asia Research Center; and Ms. Song Tingting, Research Secretary.
During the symposium, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as exploring and expanding youth diplomacy, building international youth exchange platforms, advancing the disciplinary development of regional and country studies, and nurturing talents for youth diplomacy. The two parties unanimously agreed to further integrate resources, promote the deep integration of academic research and youth diplomacy practices, cultivate more high-quality talents in regional and country studies for the nation, and contribute to fostering friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign youth.
