News | Course Co-taught by Institute of Regional and Country Studies Designated as National First-Class Undergraduate Course
Recently, the course Global Political Economy and Country Risk (now titled Introduction to Global Political Economy), co-instructed by faculty from the Institute of Regional and Country Studies, has been officially designated as a National First-Class Undergraduate Course.

The Ministry of Education recently announced the results of the third batch of National First-Class Undergraduate Course recognitions. The course Global Political Economy and Country Risk (now titled Introduction to Global Political Economy), offered by the School of International Studies at Renmin University of China, has been formally recognized as a National First-Class Undergraduate Course. Primarily adopting a people-centered political economy perspective, the course systematically examines the structure and various dimensions of the global political economy through topics such as great-power dynamics, industrial competition, trade, monetary and financial systems, energy, climate, migration, inequality, and innovation. It also employs diverse teaching methods, including data visualization and simulated debates, to guide students in understanding and interpreting China's evolving role in the changing global landscape. Over the years, the course has remained highly popular among students.
The course is led by Professor Zhai Dongsheng, Dean of the Institute of Regional and Country Studies and Associate Dean of the School of International Studies at Renmin University of China. The teaching team also includes:
