On November 25, Zheng Xinye, Vice President of Renmin University of China (RUC), met with the visiting delegation led by Anna Tsecherskaya, Rector of HSE University – Saint Petersburg. Wang Jianhua, Wu Yuzhang Distinguished Professor and Vice President of the Institute of Area and Global Studies of RUC, and Chen Xiaoqin, Senior Research Fellow of the Institute and Professor of the School of International Relations, participated in the meeting.

In his remarks, Zheng Xinye stated that RUC has always attached great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Russian universities. He expressed the expectation to continuously deepen practical cooperation with HSE University – Saint Petersburg, fully and meticulously implement the cooperation agreement signed by the two universities in July 2024, promote in-depth cooperation between scholars of both sides in key fields, conduct joint research on a number of critical issues, and jointly demonstrate the responsibilities of major countries in the context of the diversified and evolving global landscape.

Anna Tsecherskaya briefed the participants on the basic situation of HSE University – Saint Petersburg. She noted that the university is a top comprehensive research university in Russia, whose advantageous disciplines have gradually expanded from economics to artificial intelligence, physics, mathematics and other fields. The university highly values international development and has maintained long-term friendly cooperative relations with many Chinese universities. She looked forward to conducting in-depth academic exchanges with RUC in fields such as artificial intelligence and digital governance, deepening cooperation in talent cultivation and joint scientific research, jointly elevating the bilateral university relations to a new level, and contributing to promoting exchanges and dialogue between China and Russia in the field of education.

The visiting delegation included Maria Kiseleva, Director of the International Office of HSE University – Saint Petersburg; Alexander Pirogov, Director of the Educational Program Management Office; Daria Ivanova, Assistant to the Rector; Maria Soloshova, Vice Dean of the School of Asian and African Studies; Stanislav Marinsky, Associate Professor of the Department of International Affairs and Political Science; Alexander Butukhanov, Dean of the Department of Economics; Kristina Dmitrieva, Teacher of the Chinese Language Department; Pan Tengfei, General Manager of Xinbangda International Culture Co., Ltd., the Chinese cooperation partner of HSE University; and Vladislav Zun, Global Operations Director of the company.
